I have a thing for distant guys, and that’s maybe why I really like this guy… Girls always have that “knight-in-the-shining-armor” or “prince” kind of thingy while growing up, and he is every way how I picture mine…
The phenomenal Meteor Garden introduced me to Jerry Yan, his character Dau Ming Si, i’m sure not only swept mine heart but other girls all over the world. What I like most about him is he is daring into taking different characters when he’s going to do a drama. He has been an heir of a rich family, a surgeon, a basketball player, a pianist… Rumors say that he’s going also to take a lawyer’s character. That and his enigmatic charisma made me fall for him over and over again.

Jerry and the roles he played *wink
Dau Ming Si
With it’s appealing storyline, endearing romantic elements and the chemistry of the cast, Dao Ming Si, F4 and San Cai have became household names after the success of Meteor Garden.
Jerry played the son of an extremely well-off family, Dao Ming Si, alongside being the leader of the F4 (sons of rich families as well). He then met an ordinary girl, San Cai, who didn’t appear to be scared of him because she hates how he bullied the people around.
Their love story may seem very typical, but i gave credit to how they portrayed their character, because that made the drama successful.
Jerry is a mixture of bossy, funny, charming guy in here, which made me marked him in my heart.
Here are some funny moments in the drama…
Here’s the famous Dao Ming Si Dance
Dr. Su Yi Hua
After his “prince-like” character, Jerry dared into acting as a surgeon. He played Dr. Su Yi Hua, a skillful surgeon in a drama that showed he really can act. The role required maturity and emotion and he nailed it. His soft side as an actor was also visible in the drama and I think that the director was able to strip the Dao Ming Si label to present another Jerry’s face.
I like Jerry here, because he proved that he’s not just a pretty face, he showed that he can variate his acting capabilities…
Dong Fang Xiang
Playing the role of a basketball player, now this is really mind blowing! I’ve been a basketball fan, so when I heard that he’s gonna play in a new drama focusing on basketball, I was pulling the days to see the outcome.
The most anticipated drama of 2008, Hotshot featured 3 of Taiwan’s most admired hunks, which made the public anticipate it highly. Adapted from Slamdunk (which I also loved), that and the fact that hot Chinese hunks will play the roles, it deviated my already tired eyes from romance dramas airing around Asia.
Jerry played Dong Fang Xiang, with his trademark dunks and power moves, he was critically acclaimed to be the prince of college basketball. He again played a rich guy, but he’s playing basketball fiercely.
I loved his distant, determined and witty character here.. I also love how he was turned down twice by a girl. *wink It’s a feel good drama if you want to wind a bit from romantic dramas.
It showed another side of Jerry, that casual, typical man who plays basketball, who falls in ove and gets denied, who loves his friends and a man who’s determined to try after failing.
After showing that he can play basketball, he then dared to be a pianist/typical guy role in his recent tearjerker drama “starlit”.
Ah Yue was a famous pianist, but after a tragic incident, he left the musical world and tried to start a normal life. He met the lady who caused him to have an accident and against the events in the past, he fell for the girl Xiao Lu.
Xiao Lu, however, is dying so the test of how far you can go for someone you love left hanging.
I cried buckets on this drama, and this is the first time I saw Jerry like the “boy-next-door-type” of guy. All his roles as a leading man seemed all convincing because he’s rich and he’s got everything, but here, it was like, he’s reachable…
I like the simplicity of the role and the emotions that were natural ad heart felt.
Hopefully “Extravagant Challenge” with Ariel Lin will push through, cause it will pair my favorite Taiwan actors….
Another project with Ella was already set to took place, I’ll be waiting for now…
