Liplocks and Fated Love on ‘My Secret Romance’

I thought this drama will be at 16 episode so I was surprise that it was really set at 13 Eps.  But given the lengthening job they did to finally end Sung Hoon’s kissing prowess spectacle, I think reaching the 16th episode would have really made me furious and no amount of Sung Hoon’s hot self can appease it.  *chuckles

Here’s my full review for ‘My Secret Romance’ published at hellokpop.

‘My Secret Romance’ follows the traditional make of Korean rom-coms without any embellishment.  If truth be told, on a woman’s point of view, you will really stay because of Sung Hoon’s handsome face and his vacuum kisses.*Wink  There is really not much going on as the story gives away the surprises, not with twists and turns but with predictions if they will kiss or not.

If you need a drama that will require you to just rest, and bask in honeyed moments while sipping a hot chocolate on a rainy day, then this short drama will serve the purpose.  But be warned that the barren storyline is borderline cathartic that you might feel like you are watching it only because of the liplocks.

KDramaland Weekly Round Up (April Week 3)

April 3rd Week (April 17-22)

I’m back with my snippet servings!  I hope everyone is happy following dramaland these days.  Though not explosive, I’m enjoying the variety of themes I am getting.

My Secret Romance (Mon-Tue) Ep 1-2

This TVN offering promises to give us the romance vibes.  I like the fast pacing.  I hope to see the relationship progressed to a more sincere manner since the premise of their love story was a bit sporadic.

The Liar and His Lover (Mon-Tue) Ep 9-10

I marathoned this cute drama and I was so drawn to the lead girl’s optimism.  Less the music, it gave me the “Izatura na Kiss” vibe.  I’m happy that it is an easy breezy watch for the young cast and the adults take care of the convoluted music industry related conflicts.

Queen of Mystery (Wed-Thur) Ep 5-6
I’m not a fan of the main leads except Lee Won Geun who can stun me with his flirty smile. *lol  But there’s something refreshing on this comic police investigation drama that had me invested.  Maybe it’s the quirk since I mostly am drawn with it and romance.  *chuckles

Chicago Typewriter (Fri-Sat) Ep 3-4

Finally I was given what I signed up!  The bleak opening week I was unsure of made me sad, but I bear with it because of Yoo Ah In oppa.  Thank God it came more clearer and adorable for this week’s episode.  And yes the premise of a real ghost, ghost-writing for a famous novelist cracked me up.  I like the mingling of the serious tone and the humor so far.  I think the production team is intent to make us not give up on it this time.

I am catching up with “Whisper” and “Man to Man” So I will include them on my list next week.  I will let “Radiant Office” end and will just do its series review.  -jediprincess
